Oxford North

Immediately identified by the significant new landmark of The Red Hall, Oxford North is a new multi-use development located just off of the A34, in close proximity to Oxford Parkway Station and a 15-minute cycle from the city centre. Once developed, the site, which is set in 2.25 acres of parkland, will comprise of a million square feet of labs and workspaces, 480 homes and 3 new public parks, providing a community with ample space to work and rest.

After being awarded an ongoing contract in 2025, Whiting have devoted a team to undertake the maintenance of the site to ensure that all of the green open spaces throughout Fallaize Park and beyond are an area for all to relax and enjoy.

Our regular maintenance operations are undertaken by our dedicated team headed up by Foreman Simon Rust and led by Richard Keay, one of our experienced Contract Managers. The planting scheme installed at Oxford North is bespoke, taking inspiration from the landscape in the Mediterranean, with a focus on drought resistant planting installed into white stoned beds, which when in flower provides a fantastic contrast of colour. With Simon’s horticultural expertise, we have put in place a programme which ensures that all of the shrubs throughout site are hand weeded, individually pruned and dead headed at the correct time of year to encourage healthy growth and long-term establishment.

Having a team based on site and a long-term commitment from Savills has meant that we have been able to invest in kit and our staff to ensure that we have everything we need to keep the site well maintained and in a great place to flourish in the future. With the focus on local talent development at the heart of Oxford North, the long-term commitment has allowed us to take on a local Apprentice who is based at on site full time. The site will be a fantastic place for our Apprentice to develop their skillset, with the scheme allowing for such a broad range of operations to be developed, from grass cutting and watering through to plant identification and management of watercourses and aquatic vegetation. We hope that under the guidance of Simon and Richard, our Apprentice will develop along a structured pathway to become a long-term valued member of the Oxford North Team.

With our team in place and a tough Winter season now under our belt, we look forward to the challenge of maintaining the site throughout the summer season and beyond, ensuring that the landscaping throughout site reflects the prestigious nature of the Oxford North development.
